The 34-year-old injured soccer star hobbled on to the Late Show with David Letterman on last night.
He told the host: 'I will be playing for the Galaxy for the rest of the time now, for the rest of my contract. I've always honoured my contracts and I'll do that with the Galaxy. After that we'll see what happens, but I'm very happy there.'
Beckham, who was last seen playing on loan for A.C. Milan, explained why the American soccer team allowed him to go on loan to Italy.
He said: 'I needed to do it to stay in the English national team and go to the World Cup.
'They have always supported me since I signed the contract - to allow me to do it. The organisation has been tremendous with me,' he added.
When host Letterman asked if managers at Galaxy were annoyed about his injury Beckham admitted they were, but said it was 'just one of those things'.
Attentions turned to the World Cup in South Africa, where Beckham hopes to go to, but as a spectator.
He said: 'I won't be playing, but as a supporter and part of the team, the manager's invited me. I haven't spoken to him about details but it will be about how my leg will be.'
Showing Letterman a gruesome image of his injury Beckham said he believes he was pushing himself too hard to make England's World Cup team
'I think it be a successful World Cup. I'm a big fan of the country and I've always had so many fans from there.
'I think the organization will be second to none and it will be one of the best World Cups ever,' he declared. The LA Galaxy midfielder also showed off a gruesome picture of his injury and explained how doctors had repaired his foot.
'They cut open the top of my calf, pulled the tendon back down, cut open my Achilles and re-attached it.'
Beckham sustained the injury while playing for A.C. Milan in a Serie A match against Chievo in March.
Beckham believes he sustained the injury because he's been pushing his body too hard saying 'it could happen to anyone'.
'I think I'd been running too much in the game and I was tired, there was a minute left and it just went,' he said.
'I think In the last two years I've been pushing myself too hard because I wanted to get into the World Cup and stay in the English national team and I'd been flying from LA back to Europe a lot and I think it gave up,' he added.
