James Gandolfini (The Sopranos) will co-star in Violet & Daisy with Carey Mulligan (An Education) and Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones).
The story centres on a pair of young teen assassins on the road, like Thelma and Louise meets Pulp Fiction. There are complications when a quick and easy job gets complicated.
Geoffrey Fletcher, who won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for Precious, makes his directorial debut with this film.
Bruce Willis (The Expendables) and Danny Trejo (Machete) are in talks to possibly also co-star, according to entertainment publication Variety.
Mulligan will be seen in Never Let Me Go with Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield this week in the US in a limited run. She is also scheduled for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
Gandolfini will be seen in Welcome to the Rileys with Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga) and plans to produce an adaptation of French-Canadian sitcom Taxi 0-22.
Saoirse Ronan will appear in The Way Back by Peter Weir starring Collin Farrell and Ed Harris (Gone Baby Gone).
