Kathy Griffin Films With 'Glee' Cast

Redhead loudmouth Kathy Griffin will soon be making a guest appearance on the FOX hit show 'Glee'.

She was spotted wearing a really red suite while filming, it's rumored that she will be playing a "Sarah Palin-type" character. There's no word on whether Kathy will be doing a musical number.

Grammy 2011 - Jewelry that's Strictly for the Birds...

Lady Gaga egg photo at the 2011 Grammy Awards

As in Lady Gaga ariving in an egg.....no but seriously my Cityrockajewelry readers, I yawned, I I blinked, I saw. And then, I fast-forwarded through most of the big pre-show which led to the really really Big show.  While my eyelids were cracked open, scroll on down to see what I surveyed.

ssssssssssssssss....Snake bracelets were in heavy rotation for some reason.

Even Kim Kardashian allowed a jeweled one to slither onto her wrist. I'm still just not that into it.
Eva Longoria's dangling earrings were simply superb.

Nicole Kidman's too.
I love these with the cateye makeup. Get it girrrlll.

Somebody dig up my Doc Martins. Girls still just want to have fun. Lots of edge with these earrings. Thumbs up.

Jhud didn't disappoint. Her diamond bangles were the business.

Nope, Amber-Riley - Glee girl. Don't like this shoulder necklace. Sort of looks like you jacked Xena the Warrior Princess.....
for her old show wardrobe.

This page needed some testosterone. Lenny Kravitz brought it to the Grammys for sure. Shout out to Lenny----and his sexy necklaces.

Gwyneth Paltrow headed for Glee

After days of speculation on the Internet, Gwyneth Paltrow will be setting foot on Glee this season, the shows creator said.

Yes, its true, Ryan Murphy told UsMagazine.com. She is a fan of the show.

According to Murphy, who is friends with the actress, Paltrow will be playing a substitute teacher who Matt Morrisons character (Will) falls for.

He added: She will be doing three or four solos.

This shouldnt come as a surprise as her next film, Country Strong, has Paltrow playing a washed-up country singer. Country Strong, starring Paltrow, Tim McGraw and Leighton Meester, will be in theatres in December.

Paltrows husband may also be getting some Glee glory. Chris Martins band Coldplay initially turned down Glee, then changed its mind, apologised and gave the Fox show access to the bands entire catalogue.

Paltrow will perform three or four solos on the series, according to producer Murphy.

US TV getting more gay friendly

The Good Wife is getting a gay brother; new teen TV show Hellcats features a lesbian cheerleader; and as for True Blood TV watchers now need two hands to count the vampires who will suck the blood of either gender.

The number of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) characters on prime time US television is growing, with 58 regular LGBT roles on network and cable shows this season, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (Glaad) said in a report today.

GLAAD said that 23 LGBT characters account for 3.9 per cent of regular characters in scripted network shows like Emmy-winning comedies Modern Family and Glee in the 2010-2011 TV season, which started last week.

On mainstream cable networks, the number of regulars jumped to 35 from 25 last year, with HBOs surreal vampire drama True Blood taking the crown as the most inclusive program on TV with six recurring characters who are either gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.

Chris Colfer is an openly gay actor, who also portrays a similar character in hit TV series Glee.

There are an additional 32 recurring roles on broadcast and cable TV shows, but Glaad lamented the fact that there were no black LGBT characters on network comedies and dramas.

Glaad president Jarrett Barrios said the increase in gay and lesbian characters on TV reflects the shift in American culture towards greater awareness and understanding of our community.

The recent critical and commercial success of shows like Modern Family and Glee clearly indicate that mainstream audiences embrace gay characters and want to see well-crafted stories about our lives, Barrios added.

ABCs mockumentary-style Modern Family won the Emmy for best comedy series, and earned another Emmy for the actor who portrays one-half of a gay couple raising an adopted baby. Popular Fox musical comedy Glee won a best directing Emmy and features an eclectic cast, including a gay teen and a high school singer raised by two men.

glaad welcomed the addition of gay characters this year to high-rated shows like CBS lawyer drama The Good Wife, whose bisexual, Indian investigator will be joined by a gay brother for lead actress Julianna Margulies.

New ABC shows The Whole Truth and comedy Happy Endings both have gay characters, while the new CW show Hellcats features gay cheerleader Patty Wedgerman and NBCs new lawyer show Outlaw has bisexual Lucinda Pearl.

On cable networks, AMCs spy thriller Rubicon features a gay lead character with past romantic entanglements, while Showtime programs feature seven characters who are gay, lesbian or bisexual, including dark comedy Nurse Jackie.

Todays report is the 15th annual Where We Are on TV study by Glaad, which campaigns for the inclusive and accurate portrayal of gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual people and events in the US media.

Glee is back with Season 2 premiere introducing new hot sexy and ugly competitions.

Glee made an all-singing, all-dancing return to America's TV screens last night for the eagerly-awaited Season 2 premiere.

All the favourite characters were back with gusto - with a fresh batch of new faces coming along to spice things up and offer some hot competition.

Songs featured in the show included Jay-Z and Alicia Key's duet Empire State of Mind, and Lady Gaga and Beyonce's Telephone.

The action takes place with the Glee club still smarting from their loss at the Regionals.

After learning the Nationals will be held in New York, the group perform Empire State of Mind, with Rachel (played by Lea Michele) spotting a potential new member during the rendition - foreign exchange student Sunshine Corazon (Charice Pempengco).

The pair then have a vocal face-off in the bathroom, singing Telephone - but Rachel feels intimidated by Sunshine's talents.

She attempts to scare her off - by sending her to a crack house rather than the auditorium - by Sunshine manages to overcome the detour and make the auditions, wowing the entire Glee club with a rendition of Listen from Dreamgirls.

Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith) also has some hot competition in the form of Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet), another new face for the season.

Sam is a new student at William McKinley High School who befriends Finn - but ends up becoming his rival, replacing him as quarterback on the football team.

Sam is not only talented on the pitch - he also has a great voice - and shows it off by singing Billionaire with the rest of the Glee club.

However he stops short of auditioning for New Directions, fearing it would dent his reputation.

And it's not just the students who have new rivals to deal with. Cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) gets a run for her money from a new aggressive football coach who arrives at the school, Shannon Beiste (Dot Jones).

Will (Matthew Morrison) and Sue team up to attempt to get Beiste to leave, hoping to get their funds back with a sweeping round of budget cuts by Principal Figgins (Iqbal Theba).

However Will changes his mind after learning Beiste was bullied at school and, realising the error of his ways, turns on Sue.

In turn Sue tips off the new head coach of Vocal Adrenaline - the rival of New Directions - who immediately snaps up Sunshine.

Sunshine says she would have left in any case because Rachel would have made her life 'a living hell'.

Feeling guilty about losing someone who could have helped New Directions beat Vocal Adrenaline, Rachel sings What I Did For Love from a Chorus Line by herself in the auditorium.

Glee returns to the UK on E4 next January.
