Let's Hear It For the Boys: A Few Good Hollywood Men Who Stay Faithful

Watching the video of Katie Holmes serenading Tom Cruise with 'What Lola Wants' over breakfast this morning, I couldn't help but be a little creeped out. But after the initial bouts of oversharing-anxiety passed, I thought about what a lovely couple these two make and how nice it is to see a husband and wife in Hollywood actually in love for a change.

You just know Tom isn't going to pull a Tiger (or a Jesse, or a David) and cheat on Katie. In honor of this mini-celebration of monogamy, we want to share with you our list of eight famous guys who are just plain old good men. They don't make as many headlines, because they don't cheat, lie or get drunk and hold a knife to your throat. We rarely give out accolades for people who behave the way they are supposed to, but if passing out praise can inspire good behavior in this epidemic of toxic men, then we are willing to help fight the good fight. Here are a few good men:

Tom Hanks -- Yes, this is such an obvious one, but also one for the ages! Tom and his lovely wife, Rita Wilson, have been married for 22 years and only seem more in love by the minute. We want their longevity, their hilarity and her gorgeous highlights.

Ashton Kutcher -- Say what you will about Ashton, but he loves his wife. Last year, when Ashton overheard a fellow party guest mocking his and Demi Moore's 16-year age difference, he flew into a rage and confronted the jerk. No one puts Demi in the corner when Ashton is around. More Men Worth Praising ... After the Jump >>>

Pierce Brosnan -- The former James Bond star met and fell in love with wife Keely Shaye-Smith on a charity mission to Mexico. The couple has been married since 2001 and have two sons. Brosnan continually waxes poetic about how much he loves his wife's curves and has said: "I found a great woman in Keely. Not if I searched a million times over would I find one as good."

Matt Damon -- Matt and wife Luciana Barroso are expecting their third child together in five years. So, you know, they've been busy! This low-key couple is rarely in the press. Matt recently told the Hollywood Reporter that even though he doesn't believe in marriage, in general, his wife is the best thing that has ever happened to him. "I think marriage is ridiculous; I think it's a totally ridiculous idea ... [But] I love being married to my wife -- she's the best thing that ever happened to me, but if she ever left me, I wouldn't do it again. Because it's crazy -- to spend your life with one person and not be totally driven crazy." But with Lucy, Matt makes it work.

Jake Gyllenhaal -- All Jake ever wanted was to be a dad to Reese Witherspoon's kids, and where did that get him? Dumped. And not just dumped, but sacked right before he was about to propose. Here's to hoping Jake finds a lady who appreciates him some day soon (Call me, Jake).

Kevin Bacon -- Kevin and Kyra Sedgwick flip the maxim that a man can't be married to a strong, successful woman right on it's backside. Kevin lovingly refers to his Golden Globe-winning wife as "sandwich face." And we all know that hilarious nicknames are the sign of a healthy 21-year marriage.

Jeff Bridges -- It says something about the state of Hollywood marriage that during the run-up to the Academy Awards this year, Jeff Bridges' three decade strong marriage to his wife, Susan, became such a talking point ... as if instead of being married, the two were actually secret martians. In 2006, Jeff penned a piece for Readers Digest in which he waxed poetic about falling in love with Susan -- nearly at first sight -- and how she has been the rock in his life. "In the 28 years we've been married, we've done 50 movies together. I say 'we' because Sue deserves a credit, too. I'm the guy who makes the buck, but she's the one who takes care of everything else. I really am more in love with her than ever," Bridges wrote. All we can say is awwwwwww (and why can't all men be like Jeff).

Phil Mickelson -- This professional golfer has become the anti-Tiger Woods in so many ways, but particularly because of his loyalty to his wife, Amy, who has been battling breast cancer. "We've been through a lot this year and it means a lot to share some joy," Mickelson said following his Masters win. "She's an incredible wife, an incredible mother. It was an amazing week."

Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner on Monday donated the last $900,000 sought by a conservation group for a land purchase needed to save the famed vista of the Hollywood sign from being spoiled by development.

Hefner's key role in reaching the group's fund-raising goal was announced by Los Angeles city officials, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the San Francisco-based Trust for Public Land at a news conference in the Hollywood Hills.

The land trust needed to collect a total of $12.5 million by this Friday under a deal with a group of Chicago investors who bought the 1,820-foot (555-meter) ridge, called Cahuenga Peak, from the estate of billionaire Howard Hughes in 2002.

The trust will now purchase the 138-acre (56-hectare) adjacent parcel and turn it over to the city to be incorporated into the surrounding Griffith Park, preventing any construction that would mar the postcard-perfect view of the Hollywood sign nearby.

"My childhood dreams and fantasies came from the movies, and the images created in Hollywood had a major influence on my life and Playboy," Hefner said in a statement. "As I've said before, the Hollywood sign is Hollywood's Eiffel Tower and I'm pleased to help preserve such an important cultural landmark."

Other private donors to the Hollywood sign preservation effort included actor Tom Hanks and director Steven Spielberg, the land trust said.

Donations came from all 50 US states, 10 countries and celebrities, including actor Tom Hanks and director Steven Spielberg.

In February, the sign was draped with a banner which read "Save the Peak", to raise awareness of the campaign.

The Hollywood sign itself, which is set high up in the hills, was initially created in 1923 as an advert for a real estate development called Hollywoodland.
