Nelly Furtado Is Donating $1 Million From Gaddafi To Charity

Singer Nelly Furtado says she will be donating the $1 Million she was paid to perform for family members of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Nelly Furtado, Beyonce, Usher and Mariah Carey all performed for Gaddafi in the past and although Beyonce and Usher have yet to disclose the amount they were paid, they are  feeling the pressure to give back the money they were paid.

Nelly is the first of the four artists to openly say they're giving back their performance money.

"In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Qaddafi clan to perform a 45 min. Show for guests at a hotel in Italy," the singer, 32, writes on Twitter. "I am going to donate the $."

I hope the rest of the artist follow in her footsteps. I highly doubt they'll miss the money in their bank account and the best part is that it's totally tax deductible! 

The Obama Administration has recently called for Gaddafi to step down from his 40 years of rule following an uprising against him that has left 1,000 Libyans killed.

2010 Grammy Winners

Beyonce took home six awards last night at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, setting a new record for the most Grammy wins by a female artist. Her wins included Song Of The Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song, and Best Contemporary R&B Album. Taylor Swift also took home an impressive 4 Grammy wins, including Album Of The Year for Fearless, beating Beyoncé.

Madonna, Beyonce Knowles and Mariah Carey are planning a Michael Jackson tribute album

Some of the worlds biggest music stars are ready to honor the late Michael Jackson by recording versions of his songs for a charity album.

Robbie Williams, Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross have also been linked to the LP, as is the British schoolboy who was hand picked to sing at Micheal's memorial concert last month, Shaheen Jafargholi.

“The idea came from the memorial concert," a source said. "Many fans asked if cover versions from it would be released, and it seemed a wonderful idea. This covers album is sure to be a massive worldwide hit with fans and could raise a fortune for Michael’s favorite charities.”

The contributing stars will pick their favorite songs by the ‘King of Pop’ to cover. It is believed Mariah will record her version of ‘I’ll Be There’ from the memorial, while Shaheen will sing his version of ‘Who’s Loving You’. He has also reportedly been asked to record Michael’s early smash ‘Ben.'

Robbie is apparently going to sing ‘Man In The Mirror’, and other tracks expected to be on the album include ‘Rock With You’, ‘She’s Out Of My Life’ and ‘Bad.'

A Michael Jackson tribute concert is also being planned in London – where he had been due to play 50 shows starting this summer and running into 2010 – on the date of what would have been his 51st birthday, August 29.

Now you�re on tour, you must have no time to have a normal life�
Oh, I do. And I�m fortunate to have my family with me. I can get lonely going to these foreign places, but when I see my family it doesn�t seem so bad because they are my home. And we get on really well. My mother Tina and I work really well together [on their House of Der�on fashion designs]. Now my father Mathew [her manager], on the other hand, we disagree a lot more [laughs]. But it�s usually business.

Do you drag Jay-Z around as well?
I don�t have to drag him! He comes willingly. And I go willingly. He�s part of the family posse, of course. I definitely make time for my life, it�s the most important thing. The music and all that is very important, but I have to have inspiration.

Do you have any regrets?
There were certain moments when I was 18 and I�d look out of the window to see girls going to parties with their boyfriends and think, �How am I ever going to meet anybody?� I couldn�t just go on a date, and nobody was going to ask me out. I was working too hard and not exposed to people my own age. But now I�m in such a great place and I�m happy that I�ve found the person I�ve found. I wouldn�t trade it for anything.

What can we expect from you later this year � baby Beyonc�s maybe?
Well, I�m an ambitious woman, and when I do anything, I do it really hard. If I work out, I work out really hard, if I love somebody, I love them all the way. I�m very loyal. I want a whole bunch of kids � but after I�ve got certain things out of my system first.

We knew Hov was gonna get his way. Once the babies come, Bey�s gonna disappear just like J-Lo.
