Video Music Awards 2010 Fashion Jewelry Review-----Allow Me To Fill Your Void...

KANYE WEST


I'm feeling a little under the weather today, but the show must go on so I'm putting my fingertips to the keyboard----actually, it wasn't that much of a show to type about. I'm talking about the 2010 Video Music Awards of course. Most of the usual MTV suspects were in the house minus Beyonce and Jay-Z (he had a show in NY that eve). Kanye sure loves himself some red suits and bold gold jewelry doesn't he? Remember when he did Power at the BET Awards? But guess what? I love it. It's not so much what he wears, but it's what he does that makes him such a standout dude (yes I said dude. I'm bringing it back). He's got me celebrating jerks because of  the performance of his new song RUNAWAY, and that my Cityrocka blog  readers, makes him an absolute gem, so thumbs up Yeezy.

LADY GAGA

GAGA was there, showing and proving, looking like LADY MTV and she crowned the Video Music Award Night doing it really big with her jew-els.

KESHA


Kesha was in the house in her Home Depot Garbage Bag Dress.....Ummmm....Ummmm.....I just want to say that Kesha girl, that look is all you right there.Your jewelry is hot though. The hanging cross earrings the unique rings----loves it. Very Avant Garde.

ASHLEY GREENE


You killed it girl with your drop earrings and bracelet. Way to make yourself a "Twilight" of the evening. Nicely done.

EVA PIGFORD


Eva Pigford, of America's Next Top Model Fame, was there rocking a new blonde hair do. I like her look, but I think it may have been a case of accessory overload....ie... Blonde hair, frilly dress, neon nails, croc clutch, big ring. Eva the Diva, I like you girl, but next time please tell your stylist that it's okay to push you back from the beauty chair and pause on the accessories. 

In Defense of KanYe

He's the villain; he's a monster. He does anything to bring attention to himself. He stole candy from a baby when he stole poor Taylor Swift's microphone on Sunday night. But guess what, he's a star, so everyone will pay attention to him.

KanYe West pulled an epic stunt at the 2009 Video Music Awards broadcasted on MTV. After storming the stage when Taylor Swift won an award over Beyonce, he praised Beyonce for her "best video of all time". West stomped on Taylor Swift's shining moment as the first country artist to receive a VMA.

Is anyone even suprised? West isn't famous for his model behavior (girlfriend/model Amber Rose takes care of that), he is a rapper, producer, and icon whose persona is larger than life. It is his responsibility, nay his job, to bring attention to himself, regardless of if it is positive or negative.

West did do the wrong thing, I am not advocating his behavior at all, I am simply stating that Kanye turned an interesting albeit boring telecast into national news. He also skyrocketed Taylor Swift to America's sweetheart status. People in the world who didn't know who Taylor Swift was or what kind of music she made now empathize with her because the big bad wolf blew her house down.

Although West has now apologized on the Internet, on Jay Leno, and on the phone to Swift herself, people are going to talk about how big of a jerk he is for the remainder of his career. It isn't fair to take one moment from an artist's career and punish them for it forever. HE SAID HE'S SORRY - move on people. Just think about all the good times you've had jamming to "College Dropout" or singing along to "Golddigger" and cut KanYe some slack.

Kanye Apologizes For His Stunt at the VMAs

Kanye West apologized for what he did to Taylor Swift on Jay Leno.



Kanye also wrote an apology on his blog, which read: "I feel like Ben Stiller in 'Meet the Parents' when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave."

"That was Taylor's moment and I had no right in anyway to take it from her. I am truly sorry."

He also claimed that 19-year-old Taylor's mother Andrea Swift "tore into him" backstage, demanding he apologies to her daughter.

"Taylor's mother said the same thing my mother would have said," Kanye wrote.

VMA host Russell Brand has defended Kanye, but admits his actions were out of line.

"I know Kanye, and I know he's a nice guy," Russell told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show. "We all make mistakes in life. We're all people, these things are a bit silly, no one died."

"But Taylor Swift's a young kid, isn't she? You can't make a pretty girl cry."

The 2009 MTV Video Music Award Winners

Beyonce, Green Day, and Lady Gaga led the way with three moonmen at the VMA's last night! Janet Jackson and Madonna celebrated the late Michael Jackson with an incredible tribute. Taylor Swift nabbed her first VMA for "Best Female Video" and Eminem scored the VMA for "Best Hip Hop Video"!
