Dancing with the Stars puts end to Palin boo-gate

She didnt even dance, but TV viewers of Dancing with the Stars may have thought conservative politician Sarah Palin was booed off the contest two days ago, sending producers scrambling to clarify the event.

Yesterdays results programme, producers aired an unedited video clip from previous night in which studio audience members booed the judges for giving a low score to contestants Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough not to Palin.

Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin is seen in the stands of the 142nd Belmont Stakes, the final leg of racing's Triple Crown, at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York June 5, 2010

The catcalls happened off camera when Grey and Hough were being interviewed only seconds before Palin spoke with host Tom Bergeron about her daughter Bristol, who is a contestant.

To TV viewers, it might have appeared as if the studio audience was booing Palin.

Yesterday, celebrity websites and media watchers were speculating that is exactly what happened. But the video clearly shows the audiences disappointment with the judges.

Just to put the final nail in the coffin of boo-gate, Sarah Palin told me just before the show that she was surprised by all the controversy because she was booing you guys, too, Bergeron told the judges on yesterdays programme.

Indeed, the performance show two nights ago, the judges had given a series of low scores to several contestants, in particular singer Michael Bolton who was eliminated from the contest yesterday night

'Glee' Looks To Add Susan Boyle To Long List Of Guest Stars

Photobucket

"Glee" has already had some phenomenal guest-stars, including Josh Groban, Kristin Chenoweth, and Neil Patrick Harris. Now, Entertainment Weekly has learned a certain music sensation may be appearing on the hit Fox series in a season two Christmas episode: Susan Boyle.

The "Britain's Got Talent" runner-up is conveniently on the same record label, Columbia, as the "Glee" cast. And who would Boyle play? "I have two words for you: Lunch. Lady," says "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy. "I think Kurt would just die to give her a Christmas makeover. I don't even know if she's interested but it's been pitched." Besides the potential Boyle guest spot, Murphy also tells EW that there are plans for the cast to release a Christmas album as well (Rob Stringer, Columbia/Epic's chairman, wouldn't confirm the Boyle or Christmas album details but did say, "All very interesting ideas. I'll bring them up at the next development meeting.").

The new issue of EW (on stands Friday) features Jane Lynch as Sue Sylvester on the cover, and has more information about what's in store for next season, and details on the season finale.

Was Elisabeth Hasselbeck forced to apologize for Erin Andrews comments?

Photobucket

Elisabeth Hasselbecks tearful apology to Erin Andrews on The View may have been Barbara Walters idea, according to a new report.

Earlier this week, Hasselbeck publicly apologized for her comments against stalking victim Andrews on The View. Hasselbeck said on an earlier show that Andrews convicted stalker could have avoided prison by waiting 12 weeks to see more skin revealed in her costumes on Dancing With the Stars.

Andrews later told Access Hollywood that Hasselbecks comments brought her to tears.

"I think people can have opinions about the costumes and the show," Andrews said. "But my biggest complaint is she's a woman and a mother and there was giggling [and] it was a mockery of something I've lived through this past year. I felt like it was a slap in the face for victims of stalkers and victims of sexual predators."

But while Hasselbeck was genuinely remorseful for her comments, reports that Walters was the one who said that she had to apologize, not only to rectify the situation, but also for a ratings boost.

"Barbara thought it would be a good idea to have Elisabeth apologize on air," an insider told columnist Rob Shuter. "No one is more professional than Barbara, and since the comment was made on 'The View,' the apology should also be made on 'The View.' Plus, all this drama is GREAT for ratings."

And during these tough times, Hasselbeck has reportedly been leaning on her friend Sarah Palin for support. The two have kept in touch since the election and Palin is offering her the support she needs.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck made a tearful apology to Dancing with the Stars' Erin Andrews on Wednesday's View following her criticism of the ESPN reporter's outfits on the show.

Hasselbeck said she tried to explain to her 5-year-old daughter that she had hurt Andrews' feelings. "I promised [my daughter] I would use my words more mindfully, like I try to do, to build people up and not break them down," Hasselbeck said.

Hasselbeck's apology came a day after she criticized the skimpiness of Andrews' recent Dancing outfits and made a crass joke about a man convicted of stalking her. He was accused of secretly recording Andrews through hotel room peepholes.

"I think in light of what happened ... and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room ... in some way, if I'm him, I'm like, 'Man, I could have just waited 12 weeks ... I could have seen this, a little bit less, without the prison time,'" Hasselbeck said on Tuesday's show.

Following Tuesday night's Dancing elimination round, Andrews told Access Hollywood that Hasselbeck's remarks made her cry. "I think people can have opinions about the costumes and the show ... but my biggest complaint is she's a woman and a mother and there was giggling [and] it was a mockery of something I've lived through this past year. ... I felt like it was a slap in the face for victims of stalkers and victims of sexual predators."

Andrews' Dancing family rallied around her as well.

"@ehasselbeck why did u have to throw @erinandrewsespn under the bus this morning? shame on u," Dancing pro Louis Van Amstel tweeted.

"Elizabeth Hassleback's [sic] comments about @ErinAndrewsESPN. Insensitive, in poor taste and remedial and foolish," fellow contestant Niecy Nash tweeted.

Dancing's Maks: I'm going to keep stripping

Partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy defended Andrews' outfits as well, tweeting, " I'm the one designing @ErinAndrewsESPN's dresses for the show, so I'll just assume that @ehasselbeck is jealous...and stupid 4 her comments."

Death threats have been made against ESPN reporter and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Erin Andrews, according to her attorney.

Death threats have been made against ESPN reporter and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Erin Andrews, according to her attorney.

"As soon as we learned of them the FBI was notified. They are on the case," Attorney Marshall Grossman said in a statement. "Erin and her family are protected," Grossman continued, "It is unfortunate that there are sick people who prey on the fears and threaten the well being of others."

According to celebrity news outlet TMZ.com, a person from Newport News, VA sent emails to sports-talk program,"The Dan Patrick Show."

The emails, which TMZ says began in September 2009, were initially sexual in nature, but became increasingly violent starting in March 2010.

Two of the emails allegedly read, "Somebody should shoot her in the face" and, "I'm one in a million. She'll never see me coming."

The FBI has confirmed they are working on the case and security has been tightened on the "Dancing with the Stars" set.

Last month, Michael David Barrett, 48, of Illinois was sentenced to 30 months in prison for stalking Andrews and secretly filming nude footage of her from a peephole in her hotel room.

The Norfolk office of the FBI is investigating death threats against ESPN sportscaster and "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Erin Andrews, indicating they may have originated in that state.

Norfolk FBI spokesman Phil Mann said Monday that no arrests have been made. He declined to comment on a report by the celebrity gossip site TMZ that the e-mails were sent from someone in Newport News.

Andrews' attorney Marshall Grossman said last week that since September at least a dozen e-mails have been sent to a media outlet threatening his client.

He said the messages discuss the case of Michael David Barrett, who was sentenced last month to 2 1/2 years in federal prison for secretly shooting nude videos of Andrews.

Grossman says the e-mails were at first sexual but the most recent threatened her.
