Paris Hilton is being sued for not returning $60,000 worth of borrowed jewellery

The hotel heiress was given the expensive gems from upmarket jewellers Damiani, but they were stolen as part of a $2.8 million raid at her Los Angeles home in December 2009.

Last year, police recovered all the pieces of jewellery taken from her house, but, according a lawsuit filed by German insurance giant Allianz, Paris has still failed to return the items.

The suit states: "Despite having recovered Damiani's jewellery, Hilton has failed to return all of the jewellery to Damiani as required by the Agreements."

In 2007, Damiani loaned Paris $60,000 of jewellery to wear for public appearances and as part of the deal, she agreed to stash the valuables in a safe or a vault whenever she wasn't wearing it.

The suit claims she did none of that and often left her mansion's front door unlocked and its alarm system turned off.

It stated: "On Friday, December 18, 2009, in the early morning hours, Ms. Hilton left her mansion and attended a party at Bar Delux in Hollywood, California. At some point that night, the Damiani jewellery was placed in Ms. Hilton's closet and not in the safe as required by the Agreements.

"On December 18, 2009, Ms. Hilton left the front door to her mansion unlocked. Like the front door, Ms. Hilton also left the safe unlocked that was supposed to be used to secure the loaned Damiani jewellery."

According to the New York Daily News newspaper, the suit claims a man in a hooded sweatshirt then strolled in through the front door and took off with $2.8 million of jewellery that was "sitting in plain sight" in Paris' closet.

Paris' spokesperson refused to comment.

Paris Hilton facing lawsuit over $60,000 in jewelry

Paris Hilton is holding $60,000 of jewelry that does not belong to her and should give it back, a new lawsuit contends.

German insurer Allianz has sued the celebrity socialite and heiress to the Hilton Hotels fortune, saying she has ignored several attempts to recover the borrowed jewels.

According to an April 6 complaint filed in a New York state court, Hilton borrowed the jewelry in 2007 from the Manhattan jeweler Damiani, promising to store it in a safe or vault when she was not using it.

But Allianz said the gems sat unguarded on a closet shelf in Hilton's unlocked Los Angeles mansion when they and some $2.7 million worth of other jewelry were stolen in a Dec. 19, 2008, burglary while Hilton attended a Hollywood party.

Allianz said Los Angeles police found and returned the jewelry to Hilton after it had already paid Damiani's claim under an insurance policy.

It said it began asking Hilton and two eponymously named companies she controls to return the jewelry, but that phone calls and email messages have been ignored.

Allianz's lawsuit accuses Hilton of negligence and breach of contract.

A Hilton spokeswoman said the lawsuit was "not based on fact," and that none of Hilton's representatives ever told Allianz that the stolen Damiani jewelry had been returned. "Only costume jewelry was recovered," she said.

The dispute is the latest involving a celebrity and jewelry. Actress Lindsay Lohan is expected to make a court appearance later this month on a charge that she stole a gold necklace from a Los Angeles store in January.

Broody 'Paris Hilton wants kids with Cy'

The 30-year-old socialite -who has been dating nightclub mogul Cy Waits for a year is smitten with her boyfriend, and would love to start a family in the future.

She said: 'I feel broody sometimes. I'd love kids in the future. Cy's the best boyfriend I've ever had. I'm so happy with him.'

The reality TV star also spoke out to defend former pal Lindsay Lohan, who was recently charged with stealing a necklace from an upmarket boutique, insisting the 'Mean Girls' actress is a 'good person'.

She said: 'Lindsay is a good person so I want her to turn it around.

'We haven't been in touch recently because our lives have taken a different direction but I only wish her the best.'

Paris' mother Kathy recently admitted she and her husband Rick would love to see their daughter settle down with Cy.

She said: 'I know that they've been dating a little less than a year and I think she's waited this long. She adores him and I never ever ask or ever push that question with my girls because I got married so young, I never want them to feel pressure.

'Anyone that loves animals and is kind like that ... she'll be an incredible mom. I was at Macy's with her recently and there were 1,000 people there and the little children came up and she lights up. I could see babies and a wedding.'

Life-Altering Fashion Jewelry... Really?

I was inspired to post this blog entry based on the actions of people who act like they're down for you, act like they support you but don't, or know that you have things going on and say nothing at all because of envy and jealousy. These are the haters. And because they aren't armed with high ambition and drive(like you and I), their only aim is to bring you down. People have been trying to find ways to combat them, probably since the beginning of time---interestingly enough, with fashion jewelry even. Remember those individuals who wore garlic cloves around their necks? Okay, so maybe that's not something you'd generally see anymore but EVil Eye jewelry is definitely around. It's goal is to ward off anyone who doesn't wish you well and the eyes on your necklace, bracelet, anklet or ring is always watching. Even Celebrities are buying into it. But do I? Not really, because I was born with two healthy 20/20 vision eyes of my own....Now take that, take that. Because I see you. Hi haters.

Remember when Paris Hilton’s sex tape leaked out for the world to see in 2003? The poor blonde socialite was devastated when the X-rated footage was exposed and has trying to prevent it to happen to other young girls. "I want young girls to never put themselves in that situation I was in. Don't ever let someone talk you into doing something you don't want to do. I was humiliated, embarrassed and in shock that it happened. It wasn't my fault, it was something that someone did to me, so I've just learned to be a strong woman and nothing can hurt me at this point. It was definitely very painful. Celebrating its 28th Anniversary Of Hilton Sisters

Celebrating its 28th anniversary today (17 February), Paris Hilton was spotted at the beginning of shopping with her sister, Nicky, in the city of New York.

Even after a first birthday celebration last night at Club hotspot Butter, heiress of the hotel looks beautiful in white, while not talking on his cell phone showing no signs of slowing down on his big day.

Apart celebrates the Hilton sisters arrived in the Big Apple on Sunday to check the latest trends this year in New York Fashion Week.

The two were spotted in the first line shows including Jill Stuart and Tracy Reese, and Alice & Olivia presentation yesterday evening.

Celebrity: Is Paris Hilton the real Culprit?

There have been some names thrown around in reports, regarding who the mystery woman was who texted Chris Brown, causing the well-publicized fight between him and Rihanna on Sunday (February 8).

Three names popping up in the rumor mills is Leona Lewis, singer Keisha Chante, and Hollywood partygirl Paris Hilton.

Each have denied the rumors, but according to a report by Foxnews.com, Paris may be the culprit.

Sources told Fox that while in attendance at a party in Hollywood on Friday (February 6), Brown and Paris were very cozy, all while Rihanna was on stage running through her catalog of hits.

In the time they spend chatting, photogs saw Brown and Paris talking, while phones in hand, seemingly swapping digits.

While it still doesn't prove anything, FOX reports that the source says Paris sent Brown a text two days later, early Sunday morning, possibly inviting him to some sort of get together. But whatever it said, Rihanna wasn't feeling it. Thus, sparking the entire incident between the two that ended up all over newspapers and the internet.

Despite the rumors, the source said that Paris is known for sending out mass text messages to several parties late at night regarding all kinds of things. So, should she be held at fault?

Paris is denying the reports outright, though. She says their meeting on Friday was a simply "hello." "I said hello and that was it. I love Rihanna, and that never happened," Paris told RadarOnline.com.
