Sharon's fine jewelry line is called Maji, the Swahili word for water. After taking a trip to Uganda, the film star saw the need for having access to more of it. While many of us take having clean water for granted,  Sharon learned that for the African villages,  it's something that is really needed and a quality of life essential. Life-Altering Fashion Jewelry... Really?

I was inspired to post this blog entry based on the actions of people who act like they're down for you, act like they support you but don't, or know that you have things going on and say nothing at all because of envy and jealousy. These are the haters. And because they aren't armed with high ambition and drive(like you and I), their only aim is to bring you down. People have been trying to find ways to combat them, probably since the beginning of time---interestingly enough, with fashion jewelry even. Remember those individuals who wore garlic cloves around their necks? Okay, so maybe that's not something you'd generally see anymore but EVil Eye jewelry is definitely around. It's goal is to ward off anyone who doesn't wish you well and the eyes on your necklace, bracelet, anklet or ring is always watching. Even Celebrities are buying into it. But do I? Not really, because I was born with two healthy 20/20 vision eyes of my own....Now take that, take that. Because I see you. Hi haters.

I ask you, what's a post without a photo of Dr Evil himself? Yeah baby...

And this was totally off the radar for me Cityrockajewelry.com readers---who knew that Charlize Theron (from that movie Monster) broke up with her boyfriend Stuart Townsend? I mean, I know that she was always saying that she wasn't somebody who was into being wifed up, but WOW. After 9 years with a man.... Guess that's why she's wearing the thickest red string bracelet. It's supposed to ward off bad will, so maybe she's off to a good start in willing herself to think differently about putting that much time in with someone and having nothing to show for it. I'm just kidding girl. I understand Charlize, make it about you girl. Get your soul-search on.

A Murder At The People's Choice Awards 2010!!!

Well---not really, but Mary J did kill it (in the best kind of way) in the earrings shown above. I wasn't really into the Awards this year, but these baubles were certainly CityRocka-Post worthy. The delicious dangles in white and brown diamonds are by Jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz. Here's something else to kill---all of the rumors about a possible splitsville with her husband Kendu Issacs because of an earlier reported scuffle @ her album release party. It's just my personal opinion, but didn't that scene play out as being timely??? Sing with me now readers. Her BFF Sir Philip Green then decided to purchase it for her. Right then and right there. And get this, just so that Ann's wrist wasn't left bare, Kate swapped the Chanel bracelet that she was wearing---in an even exchange. Now City Rocka Jewelry Blog readers close your eyes and picture this. Black onyx, diamonds, silver and gold... on a cuff.....Are you imagining it? Good. Because for now that's about all that we can do. BFF's who buy you pricey baubles? Weddings with celebrities in attendance? A boatload of unplanned free press? Must be nice.... Oh, and in case you didn't know, Ann Dexter Jones is the mom to Samantha Ronson (Lindsay Lohan's ex), Charlotte Ronson (fashion designer extraordinaire), and Mark Ronson. She has a jewelry line that will be debuting at Art Basel in Miami Beach. And as for any of you other wealthy celebrities waiting on fate to bring you in contact with gorgeous jewelry---I'll be riding the NYC number 4 train tomorrow, clad in one of my creations around nine AM-ish, rocking all that's hot in the City and Beyond.... so Holla atcha' your girl.
