Mel Gibson breaks silence on domestic violence scandal

Mel Gibson has broken his silence on his damaging domestic violence scandal, calling the leak of angry personal phone calls with his then-girlfriend last year a personal betrayal.

The Oscar-winning director of Braveheart described the leaked tapes, in which Gibson was heard ranting, swearing and threatening Russian girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, terribly humiliating and painful for my family.

Gibson (picture) added that he did not care if he ever acted again.

Ive never treated anyone badly or in a discriminatory way based on their gender, race, religion or sexuality period, Gibson told Hollywood journalist Allison Hope Weiner in a lengthy interview for website Deadline Hollywood yesterday.

Gibson last month pleaded no contest to a charge of hitting Grigorieva, the mother of his baby daughter, as their relationship broke down in early 2010.

He was sentenced to three years probation, a year of counselling and community service.

In his first public comments on the saga, Gibson said the tapes of phone calls leaked a year ago were edited, adding; Its one terribly, awful moment in time, said to one person, in the span of one day and doesnt represent what I truly believe or how Ive treated people my entire life.

Who anticipates being recorded? ... Who could anticipate such a personal betrayal? Gibson said.

Gibsons long-time manager left him, his movie The Beaver was delayed for months, and actors on the sequel to comedy Hangover 2 refused to work with him because of the fall-out of the sexist and racist remarks on the tapes.

They were leaked to the media as Gibson was trying to make an acting comeback after making vicious anti-Semitic remarks during a 2006 drunken driving arrest, and the end of his 28-year marriage.

The delayed movie The Beaver, in which Gibson plays a depressed husband who communicates through a beaver hand puppet, is now to be released in the United States on May 6.

But Gibson seemed unconcerned by what movie-goers would think of him as an actor now.

I dont care if I dont act anymore, he said. I could easily not act again. Its not a problem. Im going to do something now because I want to do it and because its fun.

Gibson said he was working on a total bodice-ripping swashbuckling comedy movie project in which he hoped to take a supporting role.

Actresses Whoopi Goldberg and Jodie Foster were among the few Hollywood stars to publicly defend Gibson at the height of the Grigorieva scandal last year.

Gibson was not surprised at the lack of support.

Why would anyone want to speak publicly and drag themselves through this crap? ... Very many people are supportive of course, but you find out who your friends are.

Mel Gibson ex wife Robyn said Mel is wonderful and loving father and never once abusive

When Mel Gibson was accused of abusing Oksana Grigorieva, his ex-wife Robyn wrote a statement. She said, Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward me before, during or after our marriage Mel was a wonderful and loving father. And with nearly 30 years of experience with the man, youd think she would be a good judge of his character

Charlie Sheen pleads guilty to assault

Actor Charlie Sheen pleaded guilty yesterday to assaulting his wife last Christmas and was sentenced to 30 days in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation in California.

Under a plea deal reached with prosecutors in Aspen, Sheen also agreed to three months probation in which he cannot consume any drugs, other than prescription medication, and cannot drink an excessive amount of alcohol. He also was ordered to attend 36 hours of anger management classes.

Pitkin County District Judge James C. Boyd sentenced Sheen to a 30-day jail term, but suspended it provided Sheen successfully completes his probation and the drug and alcohol rehab program in California.

Sheen, 44, was quiet through much of the court proceeding. When asked how he pleaded, Sheen said guilty as charged, your honour.

In a statement issued following the court proceeding, Sheen said he was very grateful to the court.

I look forward to complying with the courts decision, getting on with my life and putting this behind me, he said.

The star of the CBS networks sitcom Two And a Half Men is to serve his 30-day stint in rehab time at a Promises treatment centre in California, one of which is located in the seaside enclave of Malibu. The deal allows Sheen to continue his work on Two and Half Men.

Sheen was arrested on Christmas Day after Brooke Mueller, his third wife, told police he had pulled a knife on her and threatened to have her killed.

The actor was charged with felony menacing, misdemeanour third degree assault and misdemeanour criminal mischief.

In exchange for his guilty plea on the misdemeanour third degree assault, prosecutors dropped the charges of menacing and of criminal mischief.

Sheen had faced up to three years behind bars if he had been convicted on all charges.

The actors legal troubles have had little effect on his popularity. Audiences for Two and a Half Men have remained high and this year Sheen negotiated a deal with CBS that took his pay to a reported US$1.8 million (RM5.7 million) per episode.

Mel Gibson can survive abuse allegations, says Oliver Stone

Photobucket

Mel Gibson was recorded verbally abusing Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his child, but director Oliver Stone believes Hollywood will forgive him.

Although hardly flavour of the month after the allegations that he bruised his baby daughter during a row with his former girlfriend, Mel Gibson has won a vote of confidence from Oliver Stone, the maverick film director.

Stone tells Mandrake that the Oscar-winning star of Braveheart will continue to be offered leading roles in Hollywood. Everyone is supposed to have an opinion [about Gibson], but most directors dont work that way, Stone said at the premiere of his latest film, South of the Border, at the Curzon Mayfair, in London.

He points out that press criticism of an actor is always immediate, whereas Hollywood works on a longer time scale. Projects are developed slowly, and over the course of weeks, months, there will be projects, and I am sure many of them will want to have Mel Gibson in them, he says.

Stone, who has won three Academy Awards for films including Midnight Express and Platoon, is no stranger to controversy himself. Criticised for promoting historical inaccuracies in such films as JFK, Stone also suggested that Adolf Hitler was an easy scapegoat in The Secret History of America.

Gibsons former girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, 40, claimed last week that the 54-year-old actor had bruised his baby daughter during a row. Grigorieva intends to produce pictures of their daughter, Lucia, with an injured chin in a custody battle over the child.

She accused Gibson of punching her in the face and knocking out her teeth during a row in January when she was holding their then two-month-old daughter.

The accusation follows the release of expletive-ridden, taped telephone rants allegedly by Gibson in which he threatens Grigorieva.

Sandra Bullock and Jesse James finalise divorce

Photobucket
Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock and her estranged husband Jesse James have filed divorce papers in Texas, ending their nearly five-year marriage after he admitted to infidelity, according to reports yesterday.

Bullock poses with her Oscar during the Governors Ball after the 82nd Academy Awards in Hollywood on March 7, 2010

People magazine said the divorce papers were filed under seal last week, and that a representative for Bullock confirmed the divorce is final.

Bullock seemed to be on top of the world several months ago when she won the best actress Oscar for playing a tough-talking Texan socialite in the football film The Blind Side. But only days later her marriage to James was rocked by reports of his cheating.

The two quickly separated and Bullock later revealed that she had adopted a baby boy, for whom she is now caring.

In April, the actress gave her first interview to celebrity magazine People and said she would be filing for a divorce. James, a motorcycle maker and reality TV star, had been publicly linked to at least four other women.

Kelsey Grammer's wife Camille Donatacci files for divorce

Photobucket

Kelsey Grammer's third wife -- former Playboy model Camille Donatacci, whom he married in 1997 -- has filed for divorce from the actor.

"Hello everyone thank you for ur support and Yes it's TRUE Camille and I are Divorcing I ask U 2 respect our privacy in these difficu...," Kelsey tweeted on Thursday (July 1).

He followed with this tweet: "Things fell apart between us. That is all. She is still the mother of my children and any disparagement of her will only hurt the children. Camille did not want this but has made a very difficult decision and I respect her for it."

He also wrote, "I once again ask that all tweets about Camille be kind and mindful of the fact that she is the mother of my children."

The couple's rep also released this statement to "Access Hollywood": "Kelsey and Camille value privacy. They understand that private lives sometimes get played out in public but ask on this occasion that their privacy -- and the privacy of their children -- be respected."

Kelsey's first marriage to dance instructor Doreen Alderman lasted eight years. They have a daughter togehter. His marriage to his second wife, a stripper named Leigh-Anne Csuhany, lasted just a year year. He had a daughter out of wedlock during that marriage.

According to TMZ, Camille -- who cites "irreconcilable differences" in her divorce petition -- is asking for joint legal custody and primary physical custody of their two children, daughter Mason Olivia, 8 and son Jude Gordan, 5. Both children were born via surrogate. She also wants spousal and child support.

Kelsey had a heart attack in March 2008 and told "Access Hollywood" that Camile had been "amazing..., a rock" during his recovery.

Let's just hope this doesn't turn into another one of those bitter back-and-forth divorces like Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen and Larry King.

This is perfect timing for Camille's new career venture. She's starring on the new reality TV show "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."

Maybe they can change the name to "Real Divorcees of Beverly Hills." That would be a better show anyway.

Peter Andre In Tears Over Children

As we know the all false Katie Price has wedded her new cash till Alex Reid. To be fair he's no doubt hoping he'll be able to benefit from her money making skills as well. Or is time perhaps up for Katie - hopefully. She's taken the public as mugs for too long.

A lot of sympathy went out to Peter Andre when the Sky News presenter Kay Burley stupidly and disrespectfully asked him how he would feel if Reid wanted to adopt his kids.

Peter responded strongly, with tears in his eyes by saying

"No-one is going to take my kids away from me - nobody. Nobody is going to take my kids away from me and I will fight to the death for that. I didn't expect that, I'm sorry. I will die for those children."

Ofcom has confirmed it had received complaints about the Sky interview.

Ashen-faced Ronan Keating packs his bags and leaves family home after announcing split from wife Yvonne

Photobucket
Stony faced: Ronan Keating leaves his luxury home outside Dublin today after announcing news of his separation from wife Yvonne

Separated: Ronan and his wife Yvonne, seen here in January at the 10th wedding anniversary of Take That's Gary Barlow. Ronan and his wife today announced their separation after 12 years of marriage
Photobucket
Ronan and Yvonne posed with their three children, Jack, 11, nine-year-old Marie and Ali, four at the annual Pink Ribbon Ball for the Marie Keating Foundation, in Dublin last year
Not even a pair of dark sunglasses could mask Ronan Keatings emotions tonight as he moved out of the family home.

Dressed casually in a pair of designer jeans and a jumper, and without the trademark baseball cap he wore earlier, the singer looked visibly distraught over the end of his 12 year marriage to wife Yvonne.

The pained expression on his face said everything.

Low-profile: Yvonne was being comforted inside the house by friends as Ronan was seen arriving at the home earlier today
And summoning all his reserves the 33-year-old singer dared to give one last backward glance at the house before his driver pulled out of the driveway for the last time.

Its been an emotionally wrought day for the star since he and his
wife announced that they were going their separate ways.

Earlier a devastated Yvonne, 36 was being comforted by Keith Duffys wife Lisa and a neighbour over a cup of tea inside her home.

Friends have been left reeling since news of their split emerged just before lunchtime today.

As one family friend outside the house put it: Its is not a great day.'

He said: Im just shocked I got the call last night asking to come over to the house, and I found out when I arrived this morning. Im totally shocked.
The mood in the house is ok at the moment considering. The girls are just consoling her (Yvonne) over a cup of tea in the kitchen.

The kids are playing over at a neighbours house.'

One can only guess at the mood inside the house as Ronan and Yvonne help their three heartbroken children Jack (11) Marie (9) and Ali, (4) come to terms with the devastating news.Slowly one by one celebrity friends turned up to comfort the couple.

Just before 6pm Ronan, who wed Yvonne and in 1998, emerged from the house, climbing into the black Range Rover and speeding off.

He returned just 15 minutes later, and made no comment to the media, as he joined Yvonne inside.

In a statement yesterday, the couple said their split had been amicable.
And the couple remained together in the house for most of the day as they shielded their family from the media glare surrounding their split.

Ronans Range Rover and Yvonnes blue Mini Cooper remained firmly parked in the driveway all day as the couple went to ground.

And a security van remained parked outside the gated house.

Outside security told waiting media: They are making no further comment. They have asked for privacy.

A neighbour out walking her dog yesterday summed up the sense of shock which has left friends and family of the couple reeling, saying: It comes as such a shock, they always seemed so happy together youd never think it.

'The first I heard of it was on the radio this morning. You really feel for their three small children.

The exclusive Abbington estate house in Malahide is home to the rich and famous with Westlife star Nicky Byrne and his wife Georgina also living there.

When the majestic style residences went on sale at the height of the boom they had a price tag of between E3,250,000 and E3,500,000million

The property is set behind walls topped with wrought iron railings, with tall trees and shrubs offering seclusion to the broken hearted star.

Electronically controlled entrance gates also kept unwanted visitors out.
The news comes as it emerged that Keating - who has reformed Boyzone in recent months had agreed to be a judge on the next series of X Factor in Australia.

That meant he would have been away from home for months, which would have put a huge strain on the couples marriage.

And earlier this week, Keating astonishingly admitted he was surprised Yvonne had stayed with him for the last 12 years, as he revealed he can be jealous if the former model goes out without him.

He said: 'I cant believe Yvonne has stuck with me for so long. I still get incredibly jealous.
'The green-eyed monster rears its ugly head and brings out all my insecurities. I dont like it if Yvonne is out without me. I just cant help it.'

The star was left devastated last autumn when his former bandmate Stephen Gately tragically died.

Yesterday the group appeared on show Loose Women to talk about their special tribute to bandmate Stephen Gately, who died last October.

The group are staging a special tribute concert with a number of celebrity guests who will join the band on stage for some one-off special performances.

Boyzone's new single Love Is A Hurricane was released today. It is the second single from album Brother.

The group will be touring the UK in February/March 2011.

Michelle McGee: Sandra Bullock Shares Blame for Affair

Photobucket
An unrepentant Michelle McGee continued to hold Sandra Bullock at least partially responsible for her tawdry affair with Jesse James.

Speaking on the Howard Stern show on Wednesday, McGee said of Bullock, "I feel bad for her, I do."

But then, she added about Bullock in explanation: "They slept with 9 dogs in the bed ... she liked to sleep with all the dogs in the bed."

McGee was promoting an upcoming extreme wrestling match with porn star Gina Lynn, but ended up talking extensively about her affair with James, including her introduction through Myspace.

After weeks of correspondence, James eventually invited her for a tour of his bike shop, which ended, naturally, on the coffin-shaped couch in his office. "Yeah, it wasn't excellent," she said. While she claims she wasn't overly impressed, she added that his hands were strong, because he "literally ripped (my leggings) off."

McGee also insisted she is not a white supremacist. "No, not very white supremacist. No. No, more like white pride stuff."

In the end, McGee says she got very little out of the relationship with James in terms of material goods. "He gave me a T-shirt once ... it had wolves on it," she said.

But no fancy dinner. "I didn't even get a slice of pizza."

Now that Sandra Bullock's big baby secret is out, comedian George Lopez is gushing about the new little man in the actress' life.

"I am a proud uncle and [my wife] Ann is a proud aunt," the late night talk show host told People.com.

Lopez, 49, has remained a close friend to Bullock during her public marriage meltdown. After filing for divorce from shamed biker Jesse James, Bullock shocked fans with the announcement that she's adopting a 3 1/2month-old baby boy named Louis Bardo Bullock.

"Sandra is a loving, giving person, and Louis could not be in a better home," Lopez said. "She could not be happier."

Though the rest of America was blindsided by the actress' new life as a single mother, Lopez was one of the few confidantes who knew of li'l Louis, who has been living with Bullock since January.

"We knew about him a couple of months ago," Lopez told "Extra." "I love that she was able to do it privately and really take care of Louis, which is first and foremost."

Following her big win at the Academy Awards in March, Bullock moved out of the house she shared with James amid reports that he had carried on an 11-month affair with a tattooed model. Four more women have since come forward to claim they also had sexual relationships with the bad-boy biker.

Bullock, 45, filed to legally end her five-year marriage to James, 41, in Travis County Court in Austin, Texas on April 23.

As Halle Berry stepped out with her new mystery man last night, ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry has confirmed that the pair have parted company.

The 43-year-old actress was pictured holding hands with an unknown gentleman leaving the critically acclaimed Broadway play Fences, which stars Denzel Washington.

And if that didn't make the split plain enough, Aubry made a statement to Access Hollywood yesterday admitting the pair have separated after four years.
He said he was 'sad' to confirm the split and refused to comment on all of the 'wild inaccuracies' currently being reported by the media about his former relationship.

The 34-year-old, who has a two-year-old daughter Nahla with the Oscar-winning actress, continued: 'She is, and will forever be, one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known, and I am certain that we will continue to have only love and respect for one another.'

Aubry added that their daughter is their main priority.

'Her happiness and well-being are the most important thing for both of us," he said. "Please respect our privacy during this very difficult time.'
Rumours of the pair's split had been building in the showbiz circuit in recent weeks and reached fever pitch earlier this week when Berry attended an event on her own.

Although she is reported to be heartbroken, the actress remained professional throughout her red carpet appearance.

Showing off her stunning curves in backless grey sheath dress, she smiled and posed for the paparazzi when she arrived at the Linked Against Leukaemia DKMS charity gala.
The couple were said to have quietly split several months ago, but have remained on good terms as they continue to co-parent their little girl.

The handsome pair have been working out a 50/50 custody deal over their toddler daughter and Aubry has only asked for the couple's Canadian home as they divide their joint assets.
A source told RadarOnline.com: 'Gabriel just felt it wasn't working any more. When they were first together the nine-year age difference between them didn't phase him, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever dated and he was totally in love.

'But as time went on he started feeling it more and more.
'As much as it can be it's been an amicable split. They both travelled a lot for work anyway, so they were used to spending time apart for long periods, but I think Halle has taken it pretty badly, she truly loved Gabriel and thought she had found the one.'

During their relationship, Berry shot down expectations the couple would marry after going through two divorces herself.
Berry was previously wed to baseball star David Justice for four years in the early Nineties and soul singer Eric Benet.

The actress and Benet split in October 2003 after two years of marriage - just 18 months after she won an Academy Award for Best Actress in Monster's Ball.

Berry and Aubry started dating in November 2005 after meeting on set of a Versace photoshoot.

Appearing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last September, Berry admitted she fell for Aubry after seeing him on an advertisement on the side of a bus.

She said: 'He wasn't riding on the bus, he was on the side of the bus, you know, he's a model. I saw the picture and I just thought, hmm.'

Three days later, Berry was stunned to find Aubry was co-starring alongside her in the photoshoot, and after some gentle persuading by mutual friend Donatella Versace, the pair got together.

Berry enthused: 'I just remember making a mental note of, "Wow, that's a good-looking man," and then three days later, bam, there's that good-looking man.'

Ahead of the couple's four year anniversary last November, Berry admitted her relationship with Aubry had been her longest yet.

She said: 'Four years. The longest relationship I've ever had, yes, yes the longest one. For me, that's good.'

Split! Halle Berry and model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry call it quits on their five-year relationship

Photobucket

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry welcomed their daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry in March 2008
Halle Berry and her model boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, have pulled the plug on their five-year relationship, RadarOnline.com reports.

The couple, who are parents to 2-year-old daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry, have reportedly spent months working with a lawyer to iron out the details of a custody and division of property agreement. Berry is said to have employed the services of Judy Bogen, a family attorney from a top Beverly Hills law firm.

"Halle was terrified that Gabriel would go after her money," a source said. "But he's a decent and proud guy and that's just not his style."

Aubry was reportedly the one who ended the relationship, citing that the couple's age difference was a factor in the split. He is 34, while Berry is 43.

"Gabriel just felt it wasn't working anymore," a source said. "When they were first together, the nine-year age difference between them didn't phase him. But as time went on, he started feeling it more and more."

According to Radar, Aubry began to notice women other than Berry, who was voted Esquire's sexiest woman alive in 2008.

"Gabriel is a really nice, decent guy and he would never cheat on her" the insider said. "But I suspect that he had become attracted to someone and that he felt he needed to break it off with Halle before anything developed any further."

The source added, "As much as it can be, it's been an amicable split. They both traveled a lot for work anyway, so they were used to spending time apart for long periods, but I think Halle has taken it pretty badly, she truly loved Gabriel and thought she had found the one."

In the purported separation agreement, Aubry wanted joint physical custody of the couple's daughter, which Berry reportedly agreed to.

He also asked for ownership of the house they own in Canada, according to Radar. Berry reportedly put the full deposit down on the property, however Aubry has been making the payments ever since.

"Financially, Gabriel isn't in the league of Halle, but he still earns a decent amount from his modeling career, in the region of $700,000 per year, so he's comfortable and he didn't want a dime from Halle," the source said.

Berry hasn't been shy when it comes to her feelings about marrying again. The actress has publicly declared that she has no intention of ever walking down the aisle, no thanks to her two failed marriages.

In 1996, Berry ended her three-year marriage to former baseball player David Justice, a decision that left her so depressed she said she attempted suicide. Berry went on to wed R&B singer Eric Benet in 2001, only to split two years later when he confessed to having an affair.

Jesse James 2nd mistress apologizes to Sandra Bullock

 Photobucket

In what may be true regret, or perhaps just a ploy to extend her 15-minutes, the second woman who announced she was Jesse James mistress has written a letter of apology to Sandra Bullock.

I felt I needed to reach out to you and tell you how deeply sorry I am for everything youve been through, Melissa Smith writes in the typed, one-page note, obtained by TMZ. I know nothing I can say is going to make the pain of my actions go away, but I wanted to personally apologize to you, she continues.

Smith claims to have had a two-year affair with Jesse, but despite the fact that her actions and those of others have wrecked Sandras life and torpedoed her marriage, Melissa was recently seen wearing a Team Sandra t-shirt.

And her letter proceeds:

I am sorry for any hurt or pain that I caused you. My actions of engaging with a married man are unforgivable. I never meant you any harm. I compromised my beliefs, and as such will never forgive myself.

And unlike Jesses other companions, Smith seems truly upset by the emotional fallout from what she and Jesse got up to;

From the bottom of my heart I hope you accept my sincere apology. Please contact me if you wish to discuss on the phone or in person.

Sandra, 45, has made no response, but the general view is that Melissa need not wait by the phone. Sandra and Jesse parted last month after the scale of his cheating became painfully clear. Jesse has since entered a rehab center in Arizona, but his chances of making it work with his wife now look slim.
