Carla Bruni appears in 'Midnight in Paris' trailer

PARIS: The trailer for Woody Allen's next movie "Midnight in Paris" is out on the Internet, featuring French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy in the gardens of the Rodin museum.

The romantic comedy, starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams as a young American couple in the French capital, is set to open the Cannes film festival on May 11, with general release in New York and Los Angeles on May 20.

Supermodel-turned-songwriter Bruni, 43, pops up 35 seconds into the trailer, sporting a light jacket, T-shirt, jeans and clipboard in her role as a museum guide in the garden that is home to Auguste Rodin's sculpture "The Thinker".

Much of the rest of the trailer is made up of easy-on-the-eyes postcard views of Paris -- as well as a broad hint about the flashback storyline when Williams is seen straying into an elegant 1920s milieu.

Others starring in "Midnight in Paris" include Oscar winners Marion Cotillard and Kathy Bates, as well as Welsh-born actor Michael Sheen.

Bruni-Sarkozy married French President Nicolas Sarkozy in February 2008. Her older sister Valeria Bruni Tedeschi is an actress who has appeared in several internationally acclaimed films.
